Part 2: AMC Foam Technologies Site Tour

AMC is a Manitoba owned and operated family business, which was founded in 1995 by the late Tom Smerchanski. Tom through innovation and the use of technology developed EPS products which have changed the way we think about insulation. AMC is proud to offer its customers much more than just R Value in its insulation products. AMC is committed to continue to develop new innovative insulation products to make the building construction more energy efficient and at the same time make the building process faster and easier than the traditional construction process. AMC prides itself in being more than just a manufacturer of insulation products. Our professional team is here to assist you with decades of experience in the industry. We provide advice and guidance from the design stage to the installation of our products.

During part 2 of this tour attendees will learn more about Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF) which are a stay in place form system made of expanded polystyrene panels and recycled polypropylene webs. Concrete walls built with ICF are known for their high strength, resistance to natural disasters, excellent sound insulation and thermal mass producing high performance, greatly reducing the building's energy consumption.  A Logix ICF Form is comprised of two EPS foam panels measuring 2 3/4 inches thick, 4 feet wide and 16 inches tall. Polypropylene webs, spaced 8 inches apart, hold the ICF form together and act as the placement mechanism for both the reinforcing steel and for the attachment points for finish materials. A top and bottom interlock holds the successive ICF forms together.
